UNDERSTAND THE FULL COST

Service fees are only part of the cost.

Ark to Ark

No separate service fee. With Wallet 0.8.2 or later and this server, one input allocates 2,660 sats without change or 3,990 sats with recipient and change: 33.5% less. Older wallets use 4,000 or 6,000 sats. Multiple inputs cost more. Review the total debit before sending.

Lightning receive example

A 10,000-sat receive with one HTLC input deducts 120 sats in service fees and 4,000 sats for recovery, leaving 5,880 spendable sats. More inputs can increase the recovery allocation.

What happens to the allocation?

It is not an immediate miner fee or a generally refundable deposit. Separately, the ASP can compensate eligible failed-Lightning recovery costs under the current reimbursement rules. Refresh does not refund prior allocations. If recovery is unused, the server can reclaim unused backing under the expiry rules.
