Wallet 0.8.3 beta

Clearer Lightning payments, with the updated Paperclip Ark server.

  • Invoice checks before committing funds, including route checks where supported.
  • Automatic reimbursement of recorded recovery costs for eligible failures before payment dispatch.
  • Payment initiation is distinguished from settlement; pending reimbursements survive retries.

Recovery reserves remain funded. The lower Ark-send allocations introduced in 0.8.2 are retained: 2,660 sats without change or 3,990 sats with change for one input, with no separate Ark-send service fee. Multiple inputs cost more. Review the wallet estimate before sending.

Pay compatible XBT Lightning invoices from your Ark balance without opening or managing Lightning channels. Reusable BOLT12 offers, receive QR codes, and on-chain message signing are included.

New wallets point to Paperclip Ark. Connect your own compatible XBT blockchain backend; existing wallet settings are preserved.

Update for earlier checks.

Wallet 0.8.3 checks the invoice before the server signs a Lightning payment contract. Route checks cannot guarantee payment success or fully inspect private or blinded routes.

Compatible older wallets can still send and recover payments. Eligible compensation arrives as a separate incoming Ark payment after syncing; the original failed payment may still display its cost. These wallets do not receive the new pre-signing checks.

Refunds have defined limits.

The server covers recorded recovery costs for verified eligible failures before dispatch. This is not a refund promise for every failed payment or past incident. Compensation may wait for server liquidity; principal recovery remains available.
